Unfortunately, we don’t cover how to stop yourself from eating your Tablet all at once because we’ve not mastered that ourselves! Instead, we’ll share hints and tips about storing Scottish Tablet to keep it fresh. Who you choose to share it with if at all is down to you! First, we’ll cover the basics.

What is Scottish Tablet?

Scottish Tablet is an extremely sugary confection from, you guessed it, Scotland! Scottish Tablet is one of the more popular Scottish Delicacies enjoyed all over the world. Scottish Tablet is different from fudge as it has more of a grainy texture, whereas fudge is softer to bite into. Therefore, it is important when using a Scottish Tablet recipe, that you follow the step by step instructions on how to create the perfect texture.

How long does Scottish Tablet Keep?

Tablet is over 50% sugar and because sugar is a natural preservative, it means that if it is kept in an airtight tin and stored at room temperature, it can last for around 10 days. If you keep it in the fridge, however, it can keep for a few weeks! But be careful, though, there is a reason why this is one of the more popular Scottish Delicacies, it may be devoured and might not last that long!

How do you store Scottish Tablet?

Tablet can be kept in a container, a biscuit tin or a cookie jar. Your Scottish Tablet Recipe will keep better if the container is not completely airtight as this can increase moisture levels. It’s always best kept in cool, dry conditions avoiding the heat. This is important to keep in mind during Scottish summers or during the winter months when the heating is on.
